We would like to extend our congratulations to the 2008 Narada Lovings Scholarship winner, Laura Blalock of Harmony High School. We had the most applicants ever this year, and the competition was tough. Thank you to all of the other students who applied.
All of the applicantions were judged on specific categories by four judges. These categories include their submitted reference letters, transcripts, documented community service, and high school activities. Out of a possible 400 points, Laura scored an amazing 377. All four judges gave her application over 90 points on a 100 point scale.
Laura will use her $1000 scholarship as she pursues her degree at University of Texas, Austin.
Congratulations, Laura. Great job!
